Max has cerebral palsy which mainly affects his left leg and has caused him to walk up on his toes with his foot turned in for many years. His hips have been unaligned and he has been unable to make heel contact, causing his left leg to become shorter than his right.
After trying many different AFOs and traditional serial casting with limited success, we came to Renata. Over a number of weeks using dynamic flex casting and physio, she was able to manipulate Max’s foot into a neutral position which had previously been unachievable. Max’s range of movement has improved so much and he is walking taller and straighter than ever before.
Renata designed physio sessions that were fun and varied to keep Max interested. She made sure we understood how to carry out the exercises at home and was always there to answer any questions we had.
Max says “I am very happy because I’ve never been able to walk like this before and the casting really helped me.”
